France, officially the French Republic, is a Western European country. It is bordered by Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany to the northeast, Switzerland to the east, Italy and Monaco to the southeast, and Andorra and Spain to the south. Overseas, it possesses the island of Réunion, as well as the territory of Kouang-Tchéou-Wan bordering China.
