Carolina, officially the Enlightened Republic of Carolina, is a country in North America. It covers a vast span of land ranging from the Caribbean and Central America up north to its borders with Sonora, the Great Awakened Confederation, Missouri, and Virginia.
History[edit]
Carolina originated as the Province of Carolina under British North America, lasting from 1663 to 1712, when it was split into North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. After the toll of the 7 Years War, heavy taxes and impositions on settlement led to the beginning of the the British American Revolutions. The rebels in the southern states initially cooperated with the Continental Congress, but prior to the Second Congress, delegates from Virginia and South Carolina stated that they had no future joining with the northern "anti-slave states" and proclaimed a unified force over the South. Further fragmentation left Virginia and Maryland separated, and thus the Carolina Republic declared its independence on May 8th, 1776.
